Classifying Dangerous Goods

Dangerous goods in Australia are classified by following Chapter 2 of the Australian Code for the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail (ADG Code).

The following laboratories can conduct some or all of these tests.

Some tests are independently accredited by agencies such as the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA), but others are not.

Members must use their own professional judgment about the quality of each laboratory and the quality of every test result.  Members need to confirm that the laboratory conducts the test required by the ADG code

Members need to confirm that the relevant competent authority will accept a test result from the a proposed laboratory
