Rao has over 25 years of international experience across operating companies, engineering consultancies, and specialist Process Safety, Risk, and Dangerous Goods organisations, including WesCEF, Woodside Energy, DSS+, GHD Advisory, Caltex, and Esso refineries. He has extensive expertise in process engineering, process safety, operational risk, technical safety, asset integrity, Dangerous Goods compliance and assurance, Major Hazard Facilities management, regulatory interface management, and operational excellence across the hydrocarbons, hydrogen, mining, utilities, critical minerals, infrastructure, defence, and chemical manufacturing sectors. Rao has facilitated more than 150 multidisciplinary risk workshops, including DG management studies, HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, Bowtie, and SIL studies, across the full asset lifecycle from concept development through to operations and decommissioning. He is passionate about practical risk reduction, fit-for-purpose solutions, and simple, effective ways of working. Rao is a WA LGIRS accredited DG Consultant( DG Classes ,2,3 (incl. combustible liquids), 6.1,8 and 9-Bulk and Package.
